M7, Qatar’s hub for innovation in fashion, design, and technology, recently showcased collections from three designers: 1309, Yasmin Mansour, and Shirotzu at the M7 London Designer Showcase. This initiative aims to spotlight Qatari and Qatar-based designers internationally, offering mentorship, networking opportunities, and tailored support.
Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Chairperson of Qatar Museums, stated, "The M7 Industry Programme fosters the creative industries by connecting prominent figures in fashion and design with rising talents in Qatar. This event brings remarkable designers to London’s Institute for Contemporary Arts and the wider world.”
The event at London’s Institute of Contemporary Arts included a panel discussion led by Vogue critic Sarah Mower, introducing the designers to London’s fashion community. Among the featured brands, 1309, founded by Ghada Al Subaey, celebrates the versatile nature of women with a minimalist, feminine aesthetic, combining seasonal trends with Qatari roots. Yasmin Mansour, established in 2014, offers luxury, sustainable fashion, engaging in iconic collaborations and promoting creativity in fashion and art. Shirotsu, founded by Sayuri Kurotsu and Giovanni Innella, uses discarded materials and unconventional techniques to create new clothes, aiming to influence lives and identities.
This event highlights M7's commitment to nurturing Qatari talent and providing them with platforms to succeed globally.
